Swimming lessons will take place at St Francis’ College in Letchworth commencing on Tuesday 30th April 2019 through to Tuesday 9th July 2019 (inclusive). This gives a total of 10 swimming lessons in all.
Each lesson will last for fifty minutes and will build on previous achievements. We do have to ask for a voluntary contribution of £16.50 per child towards the cost of the instructor and the use of the pool. However, should you find the cost prohibitive, please speak to Mrs Perry in confidence and she will do her best to help. No child will be excluded because of the cost.
The sessions will be led by a qualified instructor at St Francis’ College. Attached you will find an information sheet regarding the swimming ability of your child. Although it is directed at the pupils, I would be most grateful if a parent could complete the information required. The information requested needs to be in school by Friday 29th March at the latest, to give the instructor sufficient time to plan for the sessions.
In order for the lessons to be able to go ahead, help will be needed with the supervision of pupils on the walk to and from St Francis’ College, as well as at the poolside. If you are able to support the class teacher over the course of the swimming sessions and have a valid DBS in place, please indicate this on the reply slip.
Please ensure that your child brings in his/her swimming kit each Wednesday, including a swimming cap, which is compulsory at St Francis’.
Payment and parental consent can be made via the online Parent Pay system. Please can you ensure that this, along with the Pupil Swimming Information form, has been completed by Friday, 29th March. If you are unable to pay online, please ensure that the permission slip, payment and swimming form are sent into school in a clearly labelled envelope via one of the school post boxes.
