The children may have told you that a trip has been booked for Year 6 to visit Fairlands Valley Park in Stevenage on Friday 6th July 2018.
During the day the children will take part in a number of activities including canoeing and rafting. We have checked health and safety arrangements for this day and you will be reassured to know that all instructors hold Royal Yachting Association qualifications and are current first aid certificate holders. The centre also holds an Adventure Activity Licensing Authority Certificate and is also a recognised teaching establishment with the Royal Yachting Association.
The children will need to bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink. They are asked to wear old clothes suited to the weather on the day and should bring a spare set of clothes and a towel.
The cost of the visit is £19.00 per child. This covers all the costs of instruction for the day, but does not include transport. In order to keep the cost at this level, we are asking parents to bring the children directly to Fairlands Valley and collect them from there at the end of the day. Mr Rickard-Dean will meet the children beside the sailing lake in Fairlands Valley at 9.30 a.m. and the children will be ready for collection at 3.15 p.m.
As always, parents are responsible for making sure that inhalers are carried by the children. If your child has an Epi-pen this will be carried by the teacher in charge. Please also remember that it is the responsibility of parents/carers to inform us in writing if their child experiences a medical condition which school staff should be aware of.
Permission and Payment can be made via the online ParentPay facility. However, if you are unable to access this facility please complete and return the reply slip in a sealed, clearly named envelope with the correct money enclosed by Friday 29th June. I hope the children have a very enjoyable day.
