I am delighted to confirm details about a summer trip for the Early Years 2 class to Shepreth Wildlife Park. The trip will take place on Friday 6th July and will be a full day from 9.00am until 3.40pm.
The children will be travelling by train from Letchworth to the wildlife park and I would, therefore, like to meet at 9.00 am by the Pirate Ship in the Wynd, in Letchworth town centre before catching the 9.19 train. Collection will be from the same point at the Wynd at 3.40 pm. Please provide details on the consent slip below if you need to arrange for another adult to collect your child. Please ensure that your child has been to the toilet just before meeting at this time.
The cost of the trip will be £14 per child. Payment and permission can be made via the online ParentPay facility. However, if you are unable to access this facility, please complete the permission slip and return it together with your voluntary contribution in a sealed, clearly named envelope by Friday 29th June.
The children will need a packed lunch for the day. If you wish to provide your child with their own packed lunch, please pack this in a named disposable carrier bag as we wish to discard all wrappings etc as soon as lunch is over. As a reminder, please do not include any foods which contain nuts or fizzy drinks. Please pack plenty of cartons of drink or water for the day.
If you would like the school to provide a Universal Free School Packed Lunch or a Free School Packed Lunch in the case of Free School Meals, this will need to be ordered in advance by Friday 29th June. Please indicate the choice of baguette on the slip below. No orders can be accepted after this date as the Kitchen has to place the order in advance.
The packed lunch choice for the trip is as follows:
Cheese or ham baguette with cucumber, carrot sticks, apple, orange slices, shortbread and orange juice.
Full uniform need not be worn on this trip. However, please make sure that your child wears the St Thomas More red polo shirt which enables children to be easily visible at all times. This can be worn with shorts or trousers and sensible footwear depending on the weather. Skirts and dresses are not suitable. If it is hot, children will need to wear sun cream and bring a hat. Please ensure this is a long lasting high factor variety as we are unable to reapply it. If wet weather is forecast, please ensure your child has a raincoat and wellingtons with them. Please do not bring umbrellas or any toys.
As always parents are responsible for making sure that inhalers are carried by the children. If your child has an Epi-pen this will be carried by the teacher in charge. Please also remember that it is the responsibility of parents/carers to inform the school in writing if their child experiences a medical condition which school staff should be aware of.
Please confirm your permission and make your payment by Friday 29th June at the latest. Thank you.
