I am writing to inform you of a very exciting opportunity for the school and your child.

I am delighted to inform you that some members of the Year 5 and 6 Choir have been invited to participate in the above concert. This fantastic opportunity is made possible by the Hertfordshire Schools’ Music Service. Pupils will be required to learn a number of songs especially commissioned for the occasion and will be performing alongside other Hertfordshire schools and the County Youth Orchestra. Preparation for the concert will take place on Thursdays within school time, in addition to the usual choir rehearsals on Thursday lunchtimes. We have currently been allocated only 20 places and these will be initially offered to pupils who are committed members of the Choir. Any additional places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, although priority will be given to committed members of the Choir and Orchestra.

Pupils will be travelling to and from London by coach. This will leave from outside the school at around 7.45 am and will return at approximately 5.00 pm. Performers will be attending a morning rehearsal at the Albert Hall and will take part in the afternoon concert which starts at 1.45 pm. The cost, which includes coach hire and a T Shirt, which all participants are required to wear, will be £16.00. Tickets for the concert will be available directly from the Royal Albert Hall box office from Monday 8th January 2018.
