On Friday 13th October Year 5 will be leading us in our Harvest Festival celebrations. Everyone is welcome to attend this event which will take place in the school hall from 9 o’clock onwards. As in previous years, we are collecting for the local Foodbank which supports vulnerable people and especially families, who have fallen on difficult times. I am informed that there has been a significant increase in demand over recent months, so there is now an urgent need to stock up the Foodbank warehouse with more foodstuffs. Any dried or tinned goods would be appreciated, but they are particularly short on the following items: milk [longlife UHT], dried milk, 500g sugar, fruit juice [longlife], sponge puddings, dried potato, noodles, vegetables [tinned], toilet rolls, Size 6 Nappies and strong carrier bags. There is a container in the main entrance to drop things off in, or alternatively your child can bring items to his/her classroom. Representatives from the Foodbank will visit STM around lunchtime on Friday 13th to collect all items, so please make your donations before this date. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
